Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.
Let's get started!!
To make this you will need:
◎ Main Panel
① 9″ × 12¼″ (23㎝ × 31㎝) Outer layer
① 9″ × 12¼″ (23㎝ × 31㎝) Lining
① 8¼″ × 11½″ (21㎝ × 29㎝) Fusible fleece
◎ Contrast Color Panel
④ 4″ × 7⅛″ (10㎝ × 18㎝) Outer layer
① 6¼″ × 6¼″ (16㎝ × 16㎝) Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing
◎ Others
① 8″ (20㎝) Zipper
Draw a circle with a radius of 3¼″ on the interfacing and cut it in half. Watch the video to learn how to easily draw a circle using a ruler.
Attach the interfacing to the wrong side of the contrast color panel.
Place the right sides together of the two contrast color panels and sew along the round shape.
Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing.
With sharp scissors make small snips on the round seam.
Turn the right side out and press.
Place the contrast color panel in the vertical center of the main panel and sew.
With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge.
Bend zipper ends in place (at both the pull side and end stop side).
Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.
Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.
Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.
Turn right side in. Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Sew the both sides with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening on the lining.
Combine the side seam and bottom. Mark a line so that the edge is 2″ wide and sew.
Cut the edges of the two outer layer and two lining, leaving a seam allowance.
Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. And sew up this opening.
Arrange the lining inside and press pieces.
YOU ARE FINISHED!
Happy sewing!
