Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1   9″ × 4⅜″ (23㎝ × 11㎝)
2   2⅜″ × 8¾″ (6㎝ × 22㎝)

Contrast Color Fabric ( quilting cotton )
1   9″ × 5⅝″ (23㎝ × 14㎝)
1   9″ × 2″ (23㎝ × 5㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
1   9″ × 3¾″ (23㎝ × 9.5㎝)

Zipper
1   8″ (20㎝)

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   8¼″ × 6″ (21㎝ × 15㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
1   8¼″ × 1¾″ (21㎝ × 4.5㎝)

Fold the handle pieces in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Stitch along both long edges of the strip, 1/8” from the edge.

Place and sew the handles 3⅝″ interval.

Place the right sides together of the outer and lining and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Fold the upper fabric around the handle and sew.

Fold the upper fabric to the depth of the front pocket and sew.

Place the right sides together of the linings and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.

Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Sew the seam allowances on both sides.

Turn out our pencil case through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole, and the pencil case is ready!

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
