DIY Easy Shoulder Bag

Today, I made a large-capacity shoulder bag with striped fabric. There is a width at the bottom of the bag, which gives a sense of stability and allows for sufficient storage. Make it easy and use it as a travel bag or diaper bag.

How to make a Large Messanger Bag Tutorial

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 19¾″(50㎝) W × 13¾″(35㎝) H × 6″(15㎝) D.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1   22½″ × 34⅜″ (57㎝ × 87㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
1   22½″ × 34⅜″ (57㎝ × 87㎝)

Zipper
1   19¾″(50㎝)

1¼″(3㎝) wide Webbing Strap 31⅝″(80㎝)
1¼″(3㎝) wide Triglides Slide and Square Ring

Cut small squares measuring 3/4″ wide and 5/8″ high from the four corners of the fabric.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.

Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.
Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Place a webbing strap on the both sides of the zipper and sew.

Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together.

Mark the 3 inches in from of the bottom. Fold in 3 inches each of the front and back sides.

Sew the both sides with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving anopening.

Combine the seams of both ends of the zipper. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn out our shoulder bag through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole, and the bag is ready!

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
