DIY Easy Zipper Purse

This is a cute multipurpose pouch with a curved zipper.
If you put money and cards in it, you can use it as a wallet, and you can put small cosmetics in it.
Let’s make easily a zipper pouch of the size that a face mask fits in.

Half Zip Around Wallet Tutorial [sewingtimes]

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 5″ (12.5㎝) W × 5″(12.5㎝) H.

You may watch the full video tutorial on my Youtube channel.

Share this video with a lot of people who need it.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( quilting cotton )
2   5½″ × 5½″(14㎝ × 14㎝)
1   2⅜″ × 1⅝″(6㎝ × 4㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
2   5½″ × 5½″(14㎝ × 14㎝)
1   8¼″ × 6¾″(21㎝ × 17㎝)

Zipper
1   8″(20㎝)

Interfacing (Mid-weight woven – Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
2   5⅛″ × 5⅛″(13㎝ × 13㎝)
1   8¼″ × 3⅜″(21㎝ × 8.5㎝)

1″ Key Ring

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the interfacing, centered, to the wrong side of the outer layer.

Fold the inner pocket fabric in half lengthwise and sew only the lower part with a seam allowance of 3/8″. Turn inside out then fold it in half and sew the bottom part.
Place the pockets on the right side of the lining and sew the side seams that overlap the lining.

Bend zipper ends in place and sew (at both the pull side and end stop side).

Leave a 9/16″ margin at both ends of the zipper and sew on the outer layer.

The small snips will help the zip adapt to the curved edge of the pouch and make the inserting the zip easier.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. And sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Turn out our zipper purse through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
