DIY Everyday Belt Bag

Fanny Pack or Belt Bag is so convenient and easy to carry especially on a day out. So I made a rectangular-shaped belt bag with cute cat fabric. The bag strap is adjustable in length, so it can be used as a chest bag or waist bag.

How to make a Fanny Pack Sling Bag

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 8¾″(22㎝) W × 5⅛″(13㎝) H × 2″(5㎝) D .

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Place a zipper panel between the outer and lining of the gusset and sew both sides.

Turn it right side out.

Pin the Gusset to the Main Panel, pinning first at the center. Then pin the ends in place. Continue to pin along only the straight edges of the Main Panel, there is no fiddling for these points. With sharp scissors make small snips on the gusset at the round shape of the main panel. The small snips will help the curved edge of the pouch.

Use the same process to sew the gusset to the back panel of the bag pieces.

Pin the bias tape to the details. The bias tape is placed and pinned as pictured, stitch up to the end.

Stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.

Attach the Triglides Slide and Side Release Buckle.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
