DIY REUSABLE GROCERY BAG

This is a reusable grocery bag that is much better for the environment than a disposable bag. It is compact and easy to carry when folded and wrapped around a rubber band. If you’re a sewing beginner, this is a great project for you.

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 12⅝″(32㎝) W × 15¾″(40㎝) H.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer
2 19⅝″ × 17½″(49.5㎝ × 44㎝)
2 4¾″ × 14⅛″(12㎝ × 36㎝)

Elastic Band 6″ (15㎝)

Fold the handle fabric right sides together in half, and sew with a seam allowance of 3/8″.

Turn right side out and topstitch along both long sides.

Place the handles on the right side of the main fabric and sew twice.

Place the opposite side of the handle on the other main fabric and sew twice.

Place the wrong sides together of the two main fabric and sew 3 sides with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn wrong side out and sew the both sides.

Fold both sides as shown in the phicture and sew the bottom line.

Fold the bag entrance inward twice and sew.

Turn right side our reusable grocery bag, and the bag is ready!

Fold it into thirds, roll it up and put it on a rubber band to make it a convenient size to carry.
