DIY Tea Cup Pouch

I made a cute zipper pouch that looks like a cup with a round handle on one side. It’s the perfect size to hold snacks like tea bags or candy, or small cosmetics. These easy-to-make small pouches can utilize small pieces of fabric.

Easy Lined Zipper Pouch Tutorial

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 5⅜″(13.5㎝) W × 4¾″(12㎝) H × 1¼″(3㎝) D.

Share this video with a lot of people who need it.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
2   6⅛″ × 6⅛″ (15.5㎝ × 15.5㎝)
1   6⅛″ × 6¼″ (15.5㎝ × 16㎝)
1   2⅜″ × 5⅝″ (6㎝ × 14㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
2   6⅛″ × 6⅛″ (15.5㎝ × 15.5㎝)

Zipper
1   4¾″(12㎝)

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
2   5⅜″ × 5⅜″ (13.5㎝ × 13.5㎝)

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Fold the handle piece in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Fold it in half again. Stitch along long edge of the strip.

Place the handle strap on the right side of the outer layer and sew.

Fold the inner pocket right sides together in half, sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening. Then turn right side out through the opening. Sew along top edge.

Place the inner pocket on the right side of the lining and sew.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. (Bend zipper ends.)

Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Combine the seams so that a flat base is formed. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn out our tea cup pouch through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole, and the zipper pouch is ready!

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
