DIY Triangle Makeup Bag

Make a cute zipper pouch with a new design. The process of making this by drawing a pattern, cutting it, making a pocket, and attaching a zipper will be a very fun time. I think it would be great to use as a cosmetics bag or small hand bag.

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 7β…›β€³(18㎝) W Γ— 7β…›β€³(18㎝) H Γ— 2β€³(5㎝) D.

You may watch the full video tutorial on my Youtube channel.

Seam allowances are 3/8β€³ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

β—Ž Handle
β‘  8β€³ Γ— 4ΒΎβ€³ (20㎝ Γ— 12㎝) Outer layer
β—Ž Others
β‘  15β…žβ€³ (40㎝) Zipper
β‘  1⅝″(4㎝) wide bias tape 59ΒΌβ€³(150㎝)

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Place the bias to the mesh fabric. Sew with a 3/8β€³ seam allowance.

Fold the bias twice and sew.

Place the mesh fabric on the lining and sew it. Cut it according to the shape of the lining.

Place the wrong sides together of the outer and lining and sew around all the way.

Place the handle on the outer layer of the bottom panel. Sew both ends.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8β€³ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.
Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

With assembled lining of the bottom panel right side up, center zipper panel right side facing up. Place the outer layer of the bottom panel, right side down on top. Pin in place. Sew the both sides using a 3/8β€³ seam allowance.

Turn it over and sew the outer and lining pieces together.

Place the right side of the zipper panel on top of the main panel. Sew with a 3/8β€³ seam allowance. With sharp scissors make small snips on curve of the zipper panel.

Use the same process to sew the zipper panel to the other side of the bag pieces.

The bias tape is placed and pinned, stitch up to the end.
Stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.

Blind stitch the sides together.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
