I made a small wallet that can be closed perfectly with a zipper. This wallet has a flapped pocket on the front and a compartment divided around a zip pocket on the inside. Watch the video and follow the step-by-step instructions and you’ll have your own zip wallet.
Card Holder or Coin Purse Sewing Tutorial
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 5⅛″ (13㎝) W × 3⅜″(8.5㎝) H × 2¾″(1㎝) D.
The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.
Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. And fuse the interfacing centered, to the wrong side. Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing.
Make pocket covers and pocket and sew with Hook and Loop. Place the pocket cover and pocket on the right side of the outer fabric and sew.
Place one side of the zipper on three sides of the outer half and pin.
Place the other side of the zipper on three sides of the opposite half of the fabric and pin. Sew with a seam allowance of 3/8” except for the part with the zipper puller.
Place the lining on it and sew them. (except for an opening)
Turn right side out through the opening, and sew the edges except for the zipper puller.
Place the zipper between the outer and lining of the zippered pocket and sew.
Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.
Turn right side out.
Fold the side panel in half and insert the zip pocket. Sew the side panel and both ends of the zipper pocket together.
Place the end of the side panel on the lining edge of the wallet. Do Overcast stitch by manual.
