In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the process of creating a charming half-moon zipper pouch using fabric and a roll zipper. I made this pouch in three different sizes, with patterns available for purchase separately. I’ll show the smallest size on YouTube video and that is perfect for use as a coin purse. The process is straightforward and can be completed with just a few simple steps.
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 3⅝″(9㎝) W × 2¼″(5.5㎝) H × 1⅝″(4㎝) D.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.
Let's get started!!
To make this you will need:
◆ Main Panel
① 5⅛″ × 7½″ (13㎝ × 18.5㎝) Outer layer
① 5⅛″ × 7½″ (13㎝ × 18.5㎝) Lining
① 5⅛″ × 7½″ (13㎝ × 18.5㎝) Fusible fleece
◆ Others
① 2⅜″ × 4″ (6㎝ × 10㎝) Outer layer
① 10¾″ (27㎝) Zipper
① 1⅝″ (4㎝) Wide double fold bias tape 4″(10㎝)
Cut the fabric and interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side of the outer layer.
Separate the roll zipper and Place the zipper right sides together on top of the outer layer. Sew with an allowance of about 1/4″.
Place the lining, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance. Then Turn right side out.
Fold the tab pieces in half, wrong sides together to make a crease.
Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press.
Stitch along both long edges of the strip, 1/8” from the edge.
Cut in half and fold in half to make your tabs.
Place tabs on both sides of the main panel and sew.
Assemble the zipper by inserting the zipper head. Combine the seams so that a flat base is formed. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Attach the bias tape on the the corner seams.
YOU ARE FINISHED!
Happy sewing!
