I’ve always felt that there’s something incredibly calming about working with indigo fabric. Lately, I’ve been carrying this mini baguette bag everywhere, and I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve received! It’s the perfect size for my phone and keys, and those side pockets are a total lifesaver. In this post, I’m sharing the heart and soul behind this project—from choosing the floral pattern to that final, satisfying stitch. If you’re looking for a weekend project that brings a bit of vintage charm to your wardrobe, this is definitely it.
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 9½″(24㎝) W × 5″(12.5㎝) H × 3¼″(8㎝) D.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Open out, press pieces away from the zipper. Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.
Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.
Fold the side pocket in half and sew the top.
First, align the bottom of the side pockets on the side panels, then sew the sides of the side pockets to the shape of the sides of the side panels.
Sew the side panels together at each end of the bottom to make one panel.
First, align the center of the bottom of the main panel with the center of the bottom panel. Then, sew around the perimeter of the main panel by aligning the top of the side panel with the top of the main panel.
Finish the seam allowance with a bias tape, and attach shoulder straps to complete the look!!
YOU ARE FINISHED!
