DIY Easter Egg Holder for beginner

This is a cute and easy to make Easter Egg Holder. It can also hold candies or chocolates, or even small props. I’ve shared a pattern for making three types of baskets, so have fun.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

4 Pockets Basket

To make this you will need:

Quilting cotton Fabric
2    11″ × 11″(28㎝ × 28㎝)
Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1    10⅜″ × 10⅜″(26㎝ × 26㎝)

Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side. Place the right sides together of the fabrics and sew 4 sides with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Clip the corners and turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. Press, pin and topstitch around all the edges.

Fold the fabric in half, stitch 5/8 inch in the center.

Overlap the center of the other sides with the stitched part. Stitch 5/8 inch together in the center.

Fold the ends of the 4 parts to make a shape and you are done!!!

3 Pockets Basket

To make this you will need:

Quilting cotton Fabric
2   13″ × 11⅞″(33㎝ × 29㎝)
Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   12¼″ × 10⅜″(31㎝ × 26㎝)

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.

Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side. Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing. Place the right sides together of the fabrics and sew 3 sides with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Fold the fabric at the corner as shown in the picture and sew with a seam allowance of 3/8 inch.

Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. Press, pin and topstitch around all the edges.

After marking the center points of the three sides. The two center points face each other and stitch 5/8 inch in the center.

Overlap the center of the other side with the stitched part. Stitch 5/8 inch together in the center.

Fold the ends of the 3 parts to make a shape and you are done!!!

2 Pockets Basket

2   11″ × 6″(28㎝ × 15㎝)
Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   10″ × 5¼″(25㎝ × 13㎝)

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.

Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side. Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing. Place the right sides together of the fabrics and sew 2 sides with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Fold the fabric at the sides as shown in the picture and sew with a seam allowance of 3/8 inch.

Clip the corners and turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. Press, pin and topstitch around all the edge.

Align the center of the fabric and sew about 5/8 inch.

Fold the ends to make a shape and you are done!!!
