DIY Easy Fabric Basket

I made 3 kinds of fabric baskets that are good for storing or organizing small items or sewing tools. It can be easily made with a few simple stitches, so it is a useful item that even beginners can try. It will be even more beautiful if you make it with two contrasting fabrics and cute buttons.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

▶Finished size.
3⅝″(9㎝) W × 3⅝″(9㎝) V × 4⅜″(11㎝) H

Quilting cotton
1 10¾″ × 10¾″(27㎝ × 27㎝)
Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1 10″ × 10″(25㎝ × 25㎝)
2 Buttons

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Place the right sides together of the two pieces of fabric. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening.

With sharp scissors make small snips on curved seams.

Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening.
Press, pin and topstitch around all the edges.

Draw 3⅝″ apart lines.

Fold along the lines.

Fold both sides of the overlapping fabric forward.

Attach the buttons.

To make this you will need:

 

▶Finished size.
6″(15㎝) W × 6″(15㎝) V × 3¼″(8㎝) H

Quilting cotton
1 14¼″ × 14¼″(36㎝ × 36㎝)
Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1 13½″ × 13½″(34㎝ × 34㎝)
4 Buttons

Attach your bottom panels to your side zipper panel.

Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Place the right sides together of the two pieces of fabric. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening.

Clip the corners and turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening.
Press, pin and topstitch around all the edges.

Fold in half and sew diagonally on both sides of the bottom.

Fold in half on the other side and sew diagonally on both sides of the bottom.

Fold it into a triangle shape as shown in the picture and sew only the top part.

Turn it over and fold the four tops down.

Attach the buttons.

To make this you will need:

6″(15㎝) W × 6″(15㎝) V × 6″(15㎝) H

Quilting cotton
1 17¾″ × 17¾″(45㎝ × 45㎝)
Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1 17″ × 17″(43㎝ × 43㎝)
4 Buttons

Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side. Place the right sides together of the two pieces of fabric. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening.

Clip the corners and turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening.
Press, pin and topstitch around all the edges.

Fold in half and sew diagonally on both sides of the bottom.

Fold in half on the other side and sew diagonally on both sides of the bottom.

Fold it into a triangle shape as shown in the picture and sew only the top part.

Fold the four tops down.

Attach the buttons.
