DIY Mini Purse Bag

It is perfect to carry your essentials!
You can use it as a makeup bag or as a handbag to carry your sunglasses, sunblock, lip-gloss, keys, phone, and other small items. It has a slightly long round shape on the front and has a handle, so the more you look at it, the cuter it looks.
Also, since I shared the pattern of this bag, you can download the pdf file.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting cotton )
2   8¾″ × 4½″(22㎝ × 11.5㎝)
2   8¾″ × 2⅜″(22㎝ × 6㎝)
2   10¾″ × 1¾″(27㎝ × 4.5㎝)
1   12⅞″ × 3⅛″(32.4㎝ × 8㎝)
2   3⅛″ × 14⅝″(8㎝ × 37㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
2   8¾″ × 6⅛″(22 × 15.5㎝)
2   10¾″ × 1¾″(27㎝ × 4.5㎝)
1   12⅞″ × 3⅛″(32.4㎝ × 8㎝)

Zipper
1   10″(25㎝)

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
2   8″ × 5⅜″(20㎝ × 13.5㎝)
2   10″ × 1″(25㎝ × 2.5㎝)
1   12⅛″ × 2⅜″(30.4㎝ × 6㎝)

Fold the handle fabric in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Stitch along both long edges of the strip, 1/8” from the edge.

Place and sew the handles 2⅜″ interval.

After placing the dark colored fabric face to face on top of it, Sew with a seam allowance of 3/8″.

Open the dark colored fabric and press it. Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing.

With assembled outer layer right side up, center zipper right side facing down along top edge. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper. Attach the outer to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Facing the zipper panel and the bottom fabric. Align both ends and sew with a seam allowance of 3/8″.

Do this by marking the quater of your gusset panel and the quater of your front and back panel (these are attached to each other at this point but just fold the piece in half to find the center).

Now, using your quater marks, start pining the bottom of your side panel around the perimeter of your bottom. With sharp scissors make small snips on curved seam.
Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Use the same process to sew the gusset to the back side of the bag piece.

Fold the part where the zipper of the lining will be visible in 1cm increments.

Make the lining in the same way as the outer layer.

Turn the lining right side out. Put the outer layer inside the lining and align the zipper part. Stitch the lining to the zipper by manual.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
