This bag is a great size to hold sewing tools or knitting supplies, or to use as a lunch bag. The zipper opens wide so you can see everything easily and there are internal pockets on the lining. Make your own practical bag that can be used for all purposes.
Multi Purpose Bag Easy Tutorial
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 9⅛″(23㎝) W × 10″(25㎝) H × 7½″(19㎝) D.
The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.
Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.
Apply a inside pocket on the lining.
With assembled lining right side up, zipper right side facing up along top edge. Bend zipper ends in place. (at the pull side). Fold the other side of the zipper so it faces down. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Use the same process to sew the zipper to the other side of the bag pieces.
Position straps 1″ down from the top edge of the bag, then sew with 3/8″ seam allowance.
Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 4-inch opening on the lining. Then combine the seams so that a flat base is formed. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. Arrange the entrance of the bag and topstitch it. Then sew the opening hole close.
Fold the 4 parts where the zipper ends and sew 2- inch.
