DIY Round Purse Bag

This is a cylindrical quilted zipper pouch. I made a small and cute pouch using small pieces of fabric. With a wrist strap, it can be used as a coin purse or cosmetic pouch. Let’s make an easy-to-make zipper pouch together.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( quilting cotton )
5   6½″ × 2 9/16″ (16.5㎝ × 6.6㎝)
2   2″ × 2″ (5㎝ × 5㎝)
1   12″ × 2⅜″ (30㎝ × 6㎝)
2   1¼″ × 2″ (3㎝ × 5㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
1   6½″ × 9¾″ (16.5㎝ × 25㎝)
2   2″ × 2″(5㎝ × 5㎝)

Zipper
1   6″(15㎝)

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   6½″ × 9 1/16″ (16㎝ × 23㎝)

1   5/8″ (1.5㎝) wide D ring
1   5/8″ (1.5㎝) wide Swivel Snap

2   1¼″ (3㎝) wide Button

Place the right sides together of two small fabric and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″. Use the same process to sew others small fabric.

Open and press seams. And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Place the zipper right sides together on top of the outer layer. And place the lining on top of the zip. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Use the same process to sew the zipper to the other side of the bag pieces.

Fold your tab fabric piece in half with the 2” sides together and press. Fold in half to make your tabs. Position the pull tap of the both sides of the zipper, then sew with 1/4″ seam allowance.

Check out the YouTube video on how to make a wrist strap.

After running stitch the sides of the pouch, pull the thread to crease.

After cutting the lining of 2″ pieces into rounds, running stitch makes folds to create a round shape. Place it side to the pouch and sew to close the hole.

After cutting the outer layer of 2″ pieces into rounds, running stitch makes folds to create a round shape. Put a button into the round shape piece. Place it side of the exterior of the pouch and sew to close the hole.

Attach your wrist strap.
