DIY Ruffle Zipper Pouch

Make a zipper pouch with a special and beautiful shape. The 4 darts in the pouch make this pouch inflated rather than flat. And I show you how to apply ruffles to the edges of the pouch. It would be great to make this and give it to your loved ones.

How to make a Ruffled Purse

The finished measurements of this pouch are approximately 6¾″(17㎝) W × 5¼″(13㎝) H.

You may watch the full video tutorial on my Youtube channel.

Share this video with a lot of people who need it.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting cotton )
2   7½″ × 6″(19㎝ × 15㎝)
1   27¾″ × 2″(70㎝ × 5㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
2   7½″ × 6″(19㎝ × 15㎝)

Zipper
1   6″(15㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
2   7½″ × 6″(19㎝ × 15㎝)

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Fold 4 darts per sheet and sew.

Fold the long fabric in half. Sew the edges with running stitch, and then pull the thread sewn from both sides to make the crease.

Place the ruffle on the right side of the outer layer except for 5/8″ on both ends, then Sew with a seam allowance of 1/4″.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper wrong side facing down (zipper pull at left) along top edge. Fold both ends of the zipper inward. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Use the same process to sew the zipper to the other side of the lining.

Place the zipper right sides together on top of the outer layer. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Sew all the way around with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening on the lining.

Turn out our ruffle zipper pouch through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole, and the pouch is ready!

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
