Let's get started!!
To make this you will need:
Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1 8¾″ × 9¾″ (22㎝ × 24.5㎝)
1 6⅛″ × 9¾″ (15.5㎝ × 24.5㎝)
1 3⅜″ × 9¾″ (8.5㎝ × 24.5㎝)
1 5⅝″ × 19¾″ (14㎝ × 50㎝)
Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
2 8¾″ × 9¾″ (22㎝ × 24.5㎝)
5㎜ Cotton Cord 47½″(120㎝)
Fold the longest piece of fabric in half lengthwise. Lower the tension on the sewing machine to zero. Sew one side of the fabric. Pull the lower thread to make pleats.
Place it over the fabric to the right piece of the outer layer and sew.
Place it on top of the left piece fabric and sew.
Fold the two pleats at the bottom and sew.
Place the right sides together of the outer and lining and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together.
Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening on the lining and 4/3″ on the both sides of the outer layer.
Turn right side out. Put the lining in the outer layer. Topstitch all the way around of the top of the bag entrance. And stitch all the way around 3/4 inches in from edge. Then Sew up the opening.
Start inserting the string through one end of the casing, using a safety pin. Continue inserting the string into the casing on the other side. Next, take the other string and start inserting it through the casing from the opposite side. Continue as before. Tie the ends of the string in a knot and pull the ends to close the bag.
