If you’ve made a box-shaped zipper pouch, you’ll want to make this trapezoidal pouch as well. This pouch is a great size to hold cosmetics or toiletries. If you watch the attached video, you can easily draw a pattern and complete the pouch bag.
How to make a Zippered Box Pouch
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 8″(20㎝) W × 5″(12.5㎝) H × 5⅜″(6㎝) D.
The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.
Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.
With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing down (zipper pull at left) along top edge. Pin in place. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.
Open out, press pieces away from the zipper. Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way. Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.
Use the same process to sew the zipper to the other side of the pouch pieces.
Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Then match the center of the bottom and zipper. And sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Align the outer and lining sides together and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Sew up the opening. After this, turn inside out, the trapezoid makeup bag is ready!
