Easy Clutch Purse

I made a simple, small clutch purse bag with a handle.
The inside of this pouch has slots for two credit cards, so you don’t need a wallet.
I’m sharing how to make this cute zipper pouch that you can hold your phone.

How to make a Zipper Pouch Bag with Handle

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 7″ (17.5㎝) W × 5″(12.5㎝) H.

You may watch the full video tutorial on my Youtube channel.

Share this video with a lot of people who need it.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( quilting cotton )
2   7¾″ × 5¾″(19.5㎝ × 14.5㎝)
1   6⅛″ × 6¾″(15.5㎝ × 17㎝)
1   1¼″ × 1⅝″(3㎝ × 4㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
2   7¾″ × 5¾″(19.5㎝ × 14.5㎝)

Zipper
1   6″(15㎝)

Interfacing (Fusible Fleece – 987F Fusible Fleece or Vilene H630)
2   7¾″ × 5¾″(19.5㎝ × 14.5㎝)

1¼″ (3㎝) wide Webbing Strap 16″(40㎝)

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side of the outer layer.

Fold the card slot fabric in half so that the wrong side is visible, and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Turn inside out, topstitch along the top edge.

Place the slot on the right of the lining and sew the center line and 3 sides.

Place the bag strap on the outer layer of the front panel and sew.

I left 5/8″ of space above and below.

Bend zipper ends in place and sew .

Start by making a sandwich with your zipper and bag pieces.
Layer an outer (main fabric) piece face up, then the zipper face down along one edge, and then the lining face down.

Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.

Use the same process to sew the zipper to the other side of the bag pieces.
Topstitch the fabric down both sides of the zipper.

Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together.

sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 3-inch opening.

Turn out our clutch purse through the hole that we left not stitched.
After this, sew up this hole.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
