First, cut your denim fabric according to the pattern. The secret to those perfectly shaped pockets? Sewing darts on both sides of the pocket bottom to give them volume. Next, place the pocket outer and lining right sides together, sew the perimeter (leave a small hole for turning!), flip it inside out, and finish with a clean topstitch. Repeat this for the flaps. Once done, align them on your main fabric and sew them down.

For the straps, use the butterfly-fold method for durability. Place them on the main fabric with a 6″ gap and secure them with a sturdy stitch. Now, for the zipper: sandwich the zipper between the outer and lining of the zipper panel, sew, unfold, and topstitch along the edge for that professional look.

Place the zipper panel between the main fabric outer and inner lining, align the two ends and sew. Then turn it right side out and sew the edges of the outer and inner lining together.

Align the centers of the zipper panel and the main fabric using clips. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

To give the interior a high-end boutique finish, wrap the raw seams with bias tape. Flip it right side out, and you’re done!
