I made a small and cute coin purse using scrap fabric. It is a pouch with a unique design with a bottom shape. I think it would be good to make several and give them as gifts to people.
Scrap fabric & Sewing Gifts Idea [sewingtimes]
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 3¼″ (8㎝) W × 2⅜″(6㎝) H × 5/8″(1.5㎝) D.
The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.
Place the right sides together of the fabric of cover. Pin and sew around the edges, leaving the top .
Clip the corners and turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. Press, pin and topstitch around three sides.
Place the right sides together of the body fabric and the bottom fabric sew with an allowance of about 3/8″. Use the same process to sew the other body fabric.
Place the straight edge of the cover on the outer layer. Pin and sew just across the straight edge.
Fold in half and sew both sides with an allowance of about 3/8″.
The lining is made in the same way. Turn the outer layer over so that the outside is exposed.
Put the outer layer inside the lining, align the pouch opening and pin it. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.
Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. Press, pin and topstitch around the entrance of the pouch.
Turn inside out and sew 5/8″ on both sides.
Turn it over again, fold the sides as shown in the picture, and sew 5/8″ in 4 places.
