DIY Binder Pencil Pouch

I am so glad to share a tutorial for my binder pencil case. This case is really simple to make. It would be a great gift for someone in going back to school. Otherwise you can make this for yourself the perfect pouch for organizing your sewing supplies or taking them on the go! I made this with 6-ring binder but it could also be made with 3-ring.

Easy Zipper Pouch for binder organization

The finished measurements of this pouch are approximately 3⅜″(8.5㎝) W × 6⅜″(16㎝) H .

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( quilting cotton )
1 3″ × 7⅛″(7.5㎝ × 18㎝)
1 1½″ × 7⅛″(4㎝ × 18㎝)
1 4⅛″ × 7⅛″(10.5㎝ × 18㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
1 3″ × 7⅛″(7.5㎝ × 18㎝)
1 1½″ × 7⅛″(4㎝ × 18㎝)
1 4⅛″ × 7⅛″(10.5㎝ × 18㎝)

Zipper
1 6″(15㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
1 2¼″ × 6⅜″(5.5㎝ × 16㎝)
1 3/4″ × 6⅜″(2㎝ × 16㎝)
1 3⅜″ × 6⅜″(8.5㎝ × 16㎝)

1/4″ Grommet eyelets 6 sets

Layer an outer piece face up, then the zipper face down along one edge, and then the lining face down. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.

Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Place a outer layer of the bottom on the top panel. Sew only the length of an opening.

Place the lining of the bottom under the top panel. Sew all the way around except the opening.

Turn out the pouch through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole by manual.

Install the Grommet eyelets using the tools.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
