This tutorial and my youtube video show how to make a bucket hat. I really enjoyed making this project and I know you will too. Also, since I shared the pattern of this hat, you can download the pdf file.
You may watch the full video tutorial on my Youtube channel.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.
Let's get started!!
Materials A TYPE 40㎝ × 60㎝(15¾″ × 23¾″) 2 Fabric Interfacing – Pellon Craftfuse 808 or Vilene H250 / H200 B TYPE 44㎝ × 60㎝(17½″ × 23¾″) 2 Fabric Interfacing – Pellon Craftfuse 808 or Vilene H250 / H200
A type is the design that is used most.
B Type is a design that has different shapes on the front and back of the side and the brim.
The method of making A type and B type is the same.
The process photos and YouTube videos below were made in type B.
Place the right sides together of the two Sides and sew the both sides.
Place the right sides together of the two Brims and sew the both sides.
Place the right sides together of the outer and lining of the brim and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″. Turn right side out. Press and topstitch around all the way around.
Pin the ‘sides’ circular band to the crown . You’ll probably need to use a lot of pins and make tiny cuts into the fabric on the sides’ piece to make the pieces match. Sew the crown to the side panel using a 3/8″ seam allowance. Then topstitch around the sides for a nicer look.
Take the brim piece and pin it to the cap (right sides together!). Sew all the way around.
Put the hat inside the other cap (right sides together). Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 3-inch opening.
