DIY Coin Purse and Phone Purse

Welcome to my blog! In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you how to make a coin purse and crossbody bag with both sides zippers. These dual-zipper designs are not only stylish but also incredibly practical, allowing you easy access to your coins, cards, and smartphones without any hassle. So let’s get started with DIY Coin Purse & Phone Purse tutorial!

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately

Coin Purse

3⅝″(9㎝) W × 14⅜″(11㎝) H.

Crossbody Bag
4½″(11.5㎝) W × 8¼″(21㎝) H

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make Coin Purse you will need:

Coin Purse
② 4⅜″ × 5⅛″ (11㎝ × 13㎝) Outer layer
④ 4⅜″ × 5⅛″ (11㎝ × 13㎝) Lining
② 3⅝″ × 4⅜″ (9㎝ × 11㎝) Fusible fleece
② 4″ (10㎝) Zipper
① 3/8″ (1㎝) wide Swivel Snap
① 1⅝″ × 2″ (4㎝ × 5㎝) Swivel Snap Fabric
① Sewing Label

With assembled outer layer right side up, center zipper right side facing down along sides. Bend zipper ends (at both the pull side and end stop side). Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Place the lining, right side down on top. Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Place the opposite side of the zipper between the outer layer and lining. Sew with a seam allowance of 3/8″.

Place and sew the other zipper between the other lining and the second outer layer.

Flip the layers so the outer layer pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together.

Place the Swivel Snap Fabric on the right side of the outer layer and sew.

Sew all the way around with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening on the lining.

Turn right out through the opening. And stitch the opening.

The coin purse is complete!!!

To make Crossbody Bag you will need:

Crossbody Bag
② 5⅜″ × 9″ (13.5㎝ × 23㎝) Outer layer
④ 5⅜″ × 9″ (13.5㎝ × 23㎝) Lining
② 4½″ × 8¼″ (11.5㎝ × 21㎝) Fusible fleece
② 8″ (20㎝) Zipper
① 5/8″ (1.5㎝) wide Webbing Strap 47½″(120㎝)
① 5/8″ (1.5㎝) wide Rectangle Ring
① 5/8″ (1.5㎝) wide Triglides Slide
① Sewing Label
