Zipper Pouch Bag Step By Step Tutorial
The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 8¾″(22㎝) W × 4¾″(12㎝) H × 2″(5㎝) D.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

To make this you will need:
Outer layer ( quilting cotton )
2 9½″ × 5½″ (24㎝ × 14㎝)
2 1⅝″ × 10¾″ (4㎝ × 27㎝)
1 2¾″ × 14⅝″ (7㎝ × 37㎝)
2 1¼″ × 2″ (3㎝ × 5㎝)
1 2½″ × 18″ (6㎝ × 45㎝)
Lining ( quilting cotton )
2 9½″ × 5½″ (24㎝ × 14㎝)
2 1⅝″ × 10¾″ (4㎝ × 27㎝)
1 2¾″ × 14⅝″ (7㎝ × 37㎝)
1 7⅛″ × 7⅛″ (18㎝ × 18㎝)
Zipper
1 6″(15㎝), 10″(25㎝)
Interfacing (Fusible Fleece – 987F Fusible Fleece or Vilene H630)
2 9½″ × 5½″ (24㎝ × 14㎝)
2 1¼″ × 10¾″ (3㎝ × 27㎝)
1 2¾″ × 14⅝″ (7㎝ × 37㎝)
2 5/8″(1.5㎝) Wide D Rings
2 5/8″(1.5㎝) Wide Swivel Snap Hooks
1½″(4㎝) Wide Bias tapes – 55½″(140㎝)
The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.
Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.
Apply a zipped pocket on the back of the bag.
Fold in half to make your tabs.
Feed the pull tab through the hole of the d-ring.
Position the pull tap 1″ down from the top edge of the front exterior piece, secure in place with a sewing clip, then sew with 1/4″ seam allowance
Place the zipper centred right sides together (zipper pull down) on top of the external pouch piece.
Place the lining on top of the zip.
Use pins, glue or use clips while sewing a 3/8” from the raw edge down the zipper starting on the zipper tab and finishing on the other zipper tab.
Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.
Attach the exterior and lining to the other side of the zip the same way being careful to ensure that the fabric lines up with the other side as best you can.
Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.
Repeat for the second side.
Attach your bottom panels to your side zipper panel.
Do this by marking the center of your bottom panel and the center of your zipper panel (these are attached to each other at this point but just fold the piece in half to find the center).
Then mark the center of the top and bottom of your back panel.
Now, using your center marks, start pining the bottom (raw edge- not zipper edge) of your zipper/bottom panel around the perimeter of your back piece.
Pin the bias tape to the details.
The bias tape is placed and pinned as pictured, stitch up to the end.
Stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.
Attach the strap.
