DIY Cute Shoulder Bag

Today I made a small and cute shoulder bag or crossbody bag. The pink fabric I used seems to be especially liked by girls. I have shared the sewing pattern of this bag so that anyone can make it easily.

Small Crossbody Bag Sewing Pattern & Tutorial

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 8¾″(22㎝) W × 6½″(15㎝) H × 2⅜″(6㎝) D .

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1   8¼″ × 5¼″ (21㎝ × 13.5㎝)
1   10¼″ × 6⅜″ (26㎝ × 16㎝)
2   10¼″ × 7″ (26㎝ × 17.5㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
1   8¼″ × 5¼″ (21㎝ × 13.5㎝)
1   10¼″ × 6⅜″ (26㎝ × 16㎝)
2   10¼″ × 7″ (26㎝ × 17.5㎝)

Magnetic Buttons
3/4″(2㎝) wide Webbing Strap 47½″(120㎝)
3/4″(2㎝) wide Square Ring and Triglides Slide

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   7½″ × 4½″ (19㎝ × 11.5㎝)
1   9½″ × 5⅝″ (24㎝ × 14㎝)
2   9½″ × 6¼″ (24㎝ × 15.5㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
1   7½″ × 4½″ (19㎝ × 11.5㎝)

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. And fuse the interfacing, centered, to the wrong side. Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing.

Fold the dart, matching up the lines as best as you can. Slowly sew along the marked line.

Place the right sides together of the outer and lining of the front pocket and sew the top with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn right side out. Topstitch the top of the pocket entrance.

Place the front pocket on the right side of the main fabric and sew.

Place the right sides together of the outer and lining of the flap and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving the top.

Turn right side out. Topstitch all the way around of the edge, leaving the top.

Place the flap on the right side of the back side of the main fabric and sew.

Place the right sides together of the front and back panel and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″. Use the same process to sew the lining, leaving an opening.

Put the outer layer inside the lining to adjust the entrance. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn out our shoulder bag through the hole that we left not stitched. After this, sew up this hole.

Topstitch all the way around of the top of the bag entrance.

Adjust the bag strap.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
