DIY Long Wallet money & credit card holder

Use your favorite fabrics to make the perfect long wallet. The interior of this wallet has 12 card slots and 3 pockets big enough for flat bills or coins. I’ve shared a pattern to make this Long Wallet.

The finished measurements of this wallet are approximately 8¼″(21㎝) W × 4″(10㎝) H.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1   16½″ × 8¼″ (42㎝ × 21㎝)
2   8¼″ × 6¾″ (21㎝ × 17㎝)
1   9″ × 4⅛″ (23㎝ × 10.5㎝)
2   9″ × 8″ (23㎝ × 20㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
1   16½″ × 8¼″ (42㎝ × 21㎝)
2   8¼″ × 6¾″ (21㎝ × 17㎝)
1   9″ × 4⅛″ (23㎝ × 10.5㎝)

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   15¾″ × 7½″ (40㎝ × 19㎝ )
1   8″ × 3⅜″ (20㎝ × 8.5㎝)
1   8¼″ × 7⅛″ (21㎝ × 18㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
4   7½″ × 2⅞″ (19㎝ × 7.3㎝)

Plastic snap buttons

Place the right sides together of the outer and lining and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Cut leaving 3/8” seam allowance. Turn right side out.  Topstitch all the way around, leaving the top.

With assembled outer layer of the main fabric right side up, center the cover right side facing down along top edge. Sew along top edge using a 1/4″ seam allowance.

Place the lining, right side down on top. Sew all the way around, leaving a 3-inch opening.

Turn right side out through the opening. And topstitch.

Place the right sides together of the outer and lining and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Turn right side out through the opening. Stitch top and bottom line.

Place the card pocket on the right side of the checked fabric. Sew 4 lines that divide the width into thirds.

Place the right sides together and sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving a 2-inch opening.

Turn right side out through the opening. Stitch the opening.

Place the card pocket in the center of the main fabric. Sew the midline.

Stand up the card pocket and sew the side seams.

Attach the Plastic snap buttons.
