A large-capacity pencil case with a layer inside for easy storage.
It has dedicated pencil slots and a divider to keep your stationery organised.
It can also be used as a stationery organizer pouch or cosmetic pouch.

How to make a Stationery Organizer Pouch [sewingtimes]

The finished measurements of this pouch are approximately 8″(20㎝) W × ″3½(12.5㎝) H × 2¼″(5.5㎝) D.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( quilting cotton )
2   8¾″ × 4¼″(22㎝ × 11㎝)
1   6¼″ × 1⅛″(16㎝ × 3㎝)
1   22¼″ × 2⅝″(56㎝ × 6.5㎝)
2   3⅛″ × 6″(8㎝ × 15㎝)
1   3⅛″ × 8″(8㎝ × 20㎝)

Lining ( quilting cotton )
2   8¾″ × 4¼″(22㎝ × 11㎝)
1   6¼″ × 1⅛″(16㎝ × 3㎝)
1   22¼″ × 2⅝″(56㎝ × 6.5㎝)
1   4¼″ × 12¾″(11㎝ × 32㎝)

Interfacing (Mid-weight woven – Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
2   8¾″ × 4¼″(22㎝ × 11㎝)
1   6¼″ × 1⅛″(16㎝ × 3㎝)
1   22¼″ × 2⅝″(56㎝ × 6.5㎝)
2   3⅛″ × 6″(8㎝ × 15㎝)
1   3⅛″ × 8″(8㎝ × 20㎝)
1   4¼″ × 12¾″(11㎝ × 32㎝)

Zipper
1   15⅞″(40㎝) – Zip seam must be added

1½″(4㎝) Wide Bias tape – 37½″(95㎝)

1   Strip Elastic 5⅛″ (12.8㎝)

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the interfacing, centered, to the wrong side.

A pocket divided in the middle is attached to the right side of the lining.

Put a pocket on one side of the layer panel and an elastic on the other side.

Apply bias tape to 3 sides.

With assembled outer layer right side up, center zipper right side facing down along top edge.
Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Place the lining, right side down on top. Pin in place.
Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance, leaving a 2-inch opening.
Turn inside out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Attach the side panel of the outer and lining to the other side of the zipper.

Do this by marking the quater of your bottom panel and the quater of your side panel (these are attached to each other at this point but just fold the piece in half to find the center).
Now, using your quater marks, start pining the bottom of your side panel around the perimeter of your bottom.
Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Pin the bias tape to the details.
The bias tape is placed and pinned as pictured, stitch up all around.
Then stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.

Turn inside out, and the pencil case is ready!

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
