Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1   12″ × 10¾″ ( 30㎝ × 27㎝)
2   8¾″ × 1¾″ ( 22㎝ × 4.5㎝)
1   4″ × 4¾″ (10㎝ × 12㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
1   12″ × 10¾″ ( 30㎝ × 27㎝)
2   8¾″ × 1¾″ ( 22㎝ × 4.5㎝)

Zipper
1   8″(20㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
1   11⅛ × 10¾″ ( 28㎝ × 25㎝)
2   8″ × 1″ ( 20㎝ × 2.5㎝)

1⅝″(4㎝) wide bias tape 27⅝″(70㎝)

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. And fuse the interfacing, centered, to the wrong side. Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge.
Pin in place. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper. Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

With assembled lining right side up, zipper panel right side facing up along sides. And Place the outer layer, right side down on top.

Sew both sides with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn right side out. Sew the outer and lining together to make one piece.

Mark the center point of the main fabric and the gusset.

Pin the Gusset to the Main Panel, pinning first at the center. Then pin the ends in place. Continue to pin along only the straight edges of the Main Panel, there is no fiddling for these points. With sharp scissors make small snips on the gusset at the round shape of the main panel. The small snips will help the curved edge of the pouch.

Use the same process to sew the gusset to the other side of the main fabric.

Pin the bias tape to the details. The bias tape is placed and pinned as pictured, stitch up to the end.

Stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
