Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.
Let's get started!!
To make this you will need:
◆ Main Panel
② 4¾″ × 4¾″ (12㎝ × 12㎝) Outer layer
② 4¾″ × 4¾″ (12㎝ × 12㎝) Lining
② 4″ × 4″ (10㎝ × 10㎝) Fusible fleece
◆ Zipper panel
② 8″ × 1⅝″ (20㎝ × 4㎝) Outer layer
② 8″ × 1⅝″ (20㎝ × 4㎝) Lining
② 7⅛″ × 3/4″ (18㎝ × 2㎝) Fusible fleece
◆ Gusset
① 8″ × 2¾″ (20㎝ × 7㎝) Outer layer
① 8″ × 2¾″ (20㎝ × 7㎝) Lining
① 7⅛″ × 2″ (18㎝ × 5㎝) Fusible fleece
◆ Handle
① 4¾″ × 4″ (12㎝ × 10㎝) Outer layer
◆ Others
① 8″ (20㎝) Zipper
① 1⅝″ (4㎝) Wide bias tape 35⅜″ (90㎝)
Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. Fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.
Place the wrong sides together of the outer and lining and sew all the edges.
With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance. Open out, press pieces away from the zipper. Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way. Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.
Place the zipper panel on top of the lining of the gusset. Place the outer layer of the gusset on top of the zipper panel. Sew the both sides with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Turn right side out and sew all the edges.
Fold the handle pieces in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Stitch along both long edges of the strip, 1/8” from the edge.
Place the handle on the right side of the gusset and sew.
Do this by marking the quarter of your main panel and the quarter of your side panel (these are attached to each other at this point but just fold the piece in half to find the center).
Now, using your quarter marks, start pining the side panel around the perimeter of the main panel. Sew all the edges with an allowance of about 3/8″.
The bias tape is placed and pinned as pictured, stitch up to the end.
Stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.
YOU ARE FINISHED!
Happy sewing!
