Sew This Mini Pouch in Just 10 Minutes!

We all have those days when we want to create something beautiful but don’t have hours to spend at the sewing machine. That’s why I’m obsessed with this 10-minute Mini Zipper Pouch! It’s the perfect “quick win” project. Despite being so fast to make, it features a clean lining and a professional finish that will make everyone ask, “Where did you buy that?” Whether you need a last-minute handmade gift or a cute way to stop loose coins and earbuds from floating in your bag, this tutorial is for you. Let’s grab those scraps and get sewing!

Hands are shown placing orange and teal credit cards and a red lip tint tube into the open brown mini zipper pouch, which is lined with a blue polka dot fabric.

Place the outer layer right side up. Lay the zipper face down along the top edge. Bend zipper ends in place and sew (at both the pull side and end stop side).

Place the lining right side down on top of the zipper (Right Sides Together). Sew along the same top edge.

Flip the fabrics open so the zipper is exposed. Place the other outer layer right side up and align the unsewn side of the zipper to its top edge (face down). Just like before, fold the zipper ends upward and sew them down.

Place the remaining lining right side down over the zipper. Sew the top, but remember to leave a turning gap in the center.

Re-arrange the pieces so the outer layer is facing each other and the lining is facing each other (Right Sides Together). Sew along both side seams.
Pinch the corners by aligning the side seam with the bottom fold to form a triangle shape. Measure 3/4″ and sew straight across. This will create the boxed bottom of your pouch.

Turn the pouch right side out through the gap in the lining. Topstitch the gap closed, and you’re all done!
