Place both ends of the strap 1⅜″ from the side edges of the outer fabric and stitch them in place.

Attach a D-ring to one end of the strap and create a handle loop on the other end, then sew.

Fold the outer fabric in half and stitch both side seams.

giftbags_sewingtimes_14

Box the corners by aligning the side seams with the bottom center, then stitch.

Turn right side out, attach the piping, and stitch. (Piping is optional.)

giftbags_sewingtimes_16

Insert the outer bag into the lining (prepared the same way as the outer fabric) and stitch along the top opening, leaving a gap for turning.

giftbags_sewingtimes_17

Turn the bag right side out through the opening, then topstitch around the top edge.

giftbags_sewingtimes_18

To shape the bag, fold the four side edges and stitch down about 2″~2¾″.
