DIY Stationery Pouch Bag

Today, I made a small bag that is good for storing stationery. This can be easily found by opening the zipper and unfolding it. Just follow the step-by-step instructions and you will have your own Stationary Pouch Bag.

How to make a zippered multipurpose bag

The finished measurements of this bag are approximately 10″(25㎝) W × 7½″(18.5㎝) H × 3/4″(2㎝) D.

You may watch the full video tutorial on my Youtube channel.

Share this video with a lot of people who need it.

Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Outer layer ( Quilting Cotton )
1   10″ × 12½″ (25㎝ × 32㎝)
2   10″ × 3⅞″ (25㎝ × 9.5㎝)
2   3¼″ × 14″ (8㎝ × 35.5㎝)
1   2″ × 2⅜″ (5㎝ × 6㎝)

Lining ( Quilting Cotton )
1   10″ × 15¾″ (25㎝ × 39㎝)
4   10″ × 5½″ (25㎝ × 13.5㎝)
2   10″ × 9½″ (25㎝ × 24㎝)

Mesh Fabric
1   5½″ × 6¼″ (13.5㎝ × 16㎝)

Zipper
1   26″(66㎝)

Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’)
1   10″ × 15¾″ (25㎝ × 39㎝)

Mid-weight woven fusible interfacing (Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
1   10″ × 15¾″ (25㎝ × 39㎝)
1   10″ × 11¾″ (25㎝ × 30㎝)
2   10″ × 5½″ (25㎝ × 13.5㎝)

1⅝″(4㎝) wide bias tape 79″(200㎝)

The pattern for making this can be drawn by yourself by watching my YouTube video.

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Fold the handle pieces in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Stitch along both long edges of the strip, 1/8” from the edge. Place and sew the handles 3¼″ interval.

The outer fabric is sewn together with the middle fabric to connect.

Place the right sides together of the outer layer and lining of the outside pocket. Sew around the top and bottom. Turn it right side out. Press, pin and topstitch around all the top and bottom edges.

Place the outer pocket on the right side of the main fabric and sew.

Fold the bias tape in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Put the mesh fabric on the bias tape, and sew them.

Place 2 pieces of inner pocket fabric facing the inside and sew all the way around.

Fold the bias tape in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold each edge in toward the middle and press. Put the inside pocket on the bias tape, and sew them.

Place the inner pocket on the right side of the lining of the main fabric and sew.

Place the wrong sides together of the outer and lining of the main fabric and sew all the way around.

The bias tape is placed on the outer fabric and pinned as pictured, stitch up with 1/4” seam allowance.

The zipper is placed on the lining and stitch up with 3/8” seam allowance to the end.

Please check to my video for details on how to attach a zipper.

Stitch from the right side seam into seam, or sew manually from the backside.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
