Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.
Let's get started!!
To make this you will need:
◆ Main Panel
② 8″ × 12½″ (20㎝ × 31.5㎝) Outer layer
② 8″ × 1¾″ (20㎝ × 4.5㎝) Outer layer
② 8″ × 11½″ (20㎝ × 29㎝) Lining
② 7⅛″ × 11¾″ (18㎝ × 29.5㎝) Fusible fleece
◆ Strap
① 3¼″ × 28½″ (8㎝ × 72㎝) Outer layer
◆Strap holder
① 2″ × 5⅝″ (5㎝ × 14㎝) Outer layer
Fold the handle strap in half, wrong sides together to make a crease. Then fold 3/8″ each edge in toward the middle and press. Stitch along both long edges of the strap, 1/8″ from the edge. Place the strap under the outer layer and sew from the bottom to 2⅝″.
Place and sew the strap holder 1⅝″ apart. Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″. Leave 2⅜″ opening on the lining without the strap holder.
Open out, press pieces and stitch.
Place the right sides together of the outer and lining and sew the top with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Flip the layers so the outer bag pieces are right sides together, and the lining pieces are right sides together. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″, leaving an opening on the lining.
Combine the seams so that a flat base is formed. Sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.
Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening. And sew up this opening.
Arrange the lining inside. Put the strap through the lining hole that we left not stitched. Topstitch all the way around of the top of the bag entrance.
YOU ARE FINISHED!
Happy sewing!
