Seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

Main Fabric
1   6″ × 6″ (15㎝ × 15㎝) Outer layer
1   6″ × 6″ (15㎝ × 15㎝) Contrast Color Fabric
1   9½″ × 6″ (24㎝ × 15㎝) Outer layer
2   9½″ × 6″ (24㎝ × 15㎝) Lining
2   8½″ × 5⅛″ (21.5㎝ × 13㎝) Fusible fleece

Zipper Panel
2   12¾″ × 2″ (32㎝ × 5㎝) Outer layer
2   12¾″ × 2″ (32㎝ × 5㎝) Lining
2   12″ × 1¼″ (30㎝ × 3㎝) Fusible fleece

Gusset
1   12¾″ × 3½″ (32㎝ × 9㎝) Outer layer
1   12¾″ × 3½″ (32㎝ × 9㎝) Lining
1   12″ × 2¾″ (30㎝ × 7㎝) Fusible fleece

1   12″ (30㎝) Zipper
2   1⅛″ × 2″ (3㎝ × 5㎝) Zipper Stop Fabric

4㎝(1⅝″) wide bias tape 63¼″(160㎝)

Place the right sides together of the outer layer and contrast color fabric and sew a diagonal line.

Open out and press. Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern. Attach the interfacing to the center of the wrong side of the fabric.

Cut by adding 3/8” from the edge of the interfacing.

Place the wrong sides together of the outer and lining and sew all the edges.

With assembled lining right side up, center zipper right side facing up along top edge. Pin in place.
Place the outer layer, right side down on top. Pin in place. Using your zipper foot, sew along top edge using a 3/8″ seam allowance.

Open out, press pieces away from the zipper.

Attach the outer and lining to the other side of the zip the same way.

Open out, press pieces away from and top stitch on both 1/8” away from the zipper.

Fold your zipper stop fabric piece in half with the 2” sides together and press. Fold in half to make your tabs. Place the tabs on the both sides of the zipper panel and sew.

Layer an lining (gusset) piece face up, then the zipper panel face down, and then the outer layer (gusset) face down. Sew both sides with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Turn right side out. Sew the edges of the outer and lining together

Mark the center of the front and back panels.

Pin the Gusset to the Main Panel, pinning first at the center. Then pin the ends in place. The small snips will help the corner edge of the pouch. And sew with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Use the same process to sew the zipper panel to the other side of the bag pieces.
