DIY TODDLER BACKPACK

This is a cute little backpack for baby and toddler.
I think it is a small size that can be used up to 5 years old.
I showed the detailed process in the video so that even beginners can make it easy.

Let's get started!!

To make this you will need:

2  7⅞″ × 8¾″ ( 20㎝ × 22㎝ )

1  9¾″ × 4¾″ ( 24.6㎝ × 12㎝ )

Contrast color fabric ( quilting cotton ) – 1/4 yard
1  7⅞″ × 10¾″ ( 20㎝ × 27㎝ )
2  5¾″ × 7⅞″ ( 14.5㎝ × 20㎝ )
1  5″ × 2½″ ( 12.5㎝ × 6㎝ )

Lining ( quilting cotton ) – 1/4 yard
2  7⅞″ × 8¾″ ( 20㎝ × 22㎝ )
1  4¾″ × 22¼″ ( 12㎝ × 56㎝ )
1  7⅞″ × 10¾″ ( 20㎝ × 27㎝ )

Interfacing (Fusible Fleece – 987F Fusible Fleece or Vilene H630)
2  7⅞″ × 8¾″ ( 20㎝ × 22㎝ )
2  4¾″ × 7″ ( 12㎝ × 17.7㎝ )
1  9¾″ × 4¾″ ( 24.6㎝ × 12㎝ )
1  7⅞″ × 10¾″ ( 20㎝ × 27㎝ )

Interfacing (Mid-weight woven – Pellon SF-101 Shape Flex’ or ‘Vilene G700’)
2  5¾″ × 7⅞″ ( 14.5㎝ × 20㎝ )
1  7⅞″ × 10¾″ ( 20㎝ × 27㎝ )

1  Strip of 3/8″ (1㎝) wide elastic 16″ (40㎝)

14㎜ Magnetic button

1  Strip of 1″ (2.5㎝) wide Webbing Strap 49″ (124㎝)

2  1″ (2.5㎝) wide Triglides Slide

2  1″ (2.5㎝) wide D ring

Cut the interfacing into the shape of the pattern.
And fuse the fusible fleece, centered, to the wrong side.

Place the right sides together of the cover panel.
Pin and sew around the edges, leaving top opening in one side.
Clip the round and turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening.
Press, pin and topstitch around all the edges.

Fold the side pocket panel in half and topstitch the top.
Place the pocket panels on the side panels and sew them.
Then connect it to the bottom panel.

Mark the center of a front panel and the center of the gusset panel (just fold the piece in half to find the center).
Then using the center marks, start pining the bottom (raw edge- not zipper edge) of the gusset panel around the perimeter of front panel.
Sew around with an allowance of about 3/8″.

Leave a opening in the side of the lining.

Place and pin the outer of the bag over the top of the lining with the right sides together.
Sew all around with 3/8 inch seam allowance.
Turn it right side out by pulling the fabric through the opening.
Sew the opening hole close.

Attach a safety pin on one end of elastic and thread it through the hole, going all around and coming out in the hole.

YOU ARE FINISHED!

Happy sewing!
